Skiff Tango
Designed along the lines of a traditional skiff rowing hull, with some modifications, Skiff Tango is a fast seaworthy rowing boat with a modern touch. Featuring sliding seats for 1 or 2 persons, it converts from a double scull to a single scull and pair sweep style rowing. Skiff Tango is suited for experienced and beginner rowers alike.

Skiff Tango has a deep "V" entry at the bow with moderate flared sides giving excellent structural rigidity to the hull. The "V" hull has a clean, long and slender entry providing excellent tracking and improved speed in a chop, separating the waves for the rest of the hull to move through. A flare at the sheer gives lift to the bow and makes for a dry ride. The hull widens and flattens to a shallow "V" by mid-section giving tremendous buoyancy and stability. Flared sides give comfortable secondary stability due to added buoyancy when leaning to the side. The stern is designed with upward lift which also helps to increase buoyancy and streamlined passage of the hull through the water resulting in a faster hull. Longitudinal lines are smoothly curved to achieve the smallest wetted surface and allowing water return from the narrow bow to the slender stern as smoothly as possible resulting in faster speed. Under power Skiff Tango planes up to the surface without a stern squat so that hull speed is quickly reached and easily maintained. A hard chine hull with well defined edges, pronounced skag starting at mid-section, optional foot operated rudder and efficient water length resist hull's natural tendency weathercock, or turn into the wind. This provides excellent directional stability in following choppy sea conditions. Molded twin keels allow for easy beaching and further improve the stability. All of these characteristics give Skiff Tango a very predictable hull.
The high deck and low volume of the cockpit as well as the true 100% interior self bailing system (entry of water discharges via a bailing ducts system by the forward movement of the boat) gives a dryer and safer ride. The low profile of the sheer line reduces windage making Skiff Tango ideal for choppy sea conditions even for the entry level rower.
Molded side handles (8) are an added convenience for carrying and improve safety.
Electrolyzed aluminum rail and sliding seat mechanism are easily assembled without the use of tools. The durable, salt water resistant, epoxy coated, aluminum alloy and 316 stainless steel oar riggings fold into the hull for convenience in carrying and storage.
Bow and stern straps to hold life vests add additional convenience for safety. The cockpit features built-in water bottle holders for quick access and comfort. Bow and stern carrying handles make for easy carrying, beaching and towing in the water for rescue purposes. Skiff Tango, constructed with three airtight compartments, rendering the hull unsinkable, meets FISA safety standards. Skiff Tango also meets FISA Coastal Rowing measurement standards.

Skiff Tango comes with 2 pairs of Tootkoo brand oars which are specially designed for coastal rowing and sea environment. These are big blade style oars, manufactured from aluminium alloy shaft and carbon reinforced thermoplastic blades.
Optional - large 10" (25cm) diameter bow and stern hatches with watertight cam handle covers provide enough storage for day and overnight excursions converting your Skiff Tango to a seaworthy touring rowing boat for challenging expeditions.
Optional – Tootkoo Boats own custom designed rowing compass keeps you on course between buoys during coastal racing or on your own desired course. These compasses are designed in a way so that when you look at the compass in front of you it will be showing you the degrees of the point behind you in the direction the boat is moving.
